Name: Matthew Soble
Job Title: Senior Account Manager
Company Name: Bright Power
How has your working environment changed over the last year?
Zoom and remote work enabled many efficiencies and productivity gains from time formerly spent in transit. As workplaces reopened, it was great to collaborate with coworkers at the office and meet clients at in-person industry events. I think the future of work is a hybrid model that allows for the flexibility of working from home while leaving time for in-person interactions to foster professional relationships. I also want to give a shout-out to Bright Power’s Tech Team, who rose to this challenge and has continued to roll out new tools that enable better collaboration across our distributed team.
What was your greatest professional accomplishment or most notable project, deal, or transaction in 2021?
Our team was heavily involved in pushing a rehabilitation project to pursue full electrification of space heating and DHW, bypassing a natural gas conversion from the existing oil-fired systems. It was the first project I worked on that committed to full onsite decarbonization, and we hope to use it as a playbook for future projects. It has also been exciting to watch heat pump technology move from mostly market rate buildings to affordable housing projects over the past few years. We’re looking forward to seeing the electrification momentum continue, especially in domestic hot water systems!
