From www.brooklynecopolis.org:
Brooklyn Ecopolis is a 5-story building designed and built by Harry R. Simino, local architect, as a model of sustainable design. The building is located on Smith Street on the border of Cobble Hill and Boerum Hill in downtown Brooklyn. The building incorporates eco-friendly materials, energy efficient systems, and solar technologies. The building will be a visible example of how sustainable design and innovative technologies can be incorporated into local projects.
Bright Power advised LLDP Realty Co. on energy efficient design options. Implemented measures include: spray foam insulation, slab edge insulation, radiant floor heating system with condensing boiler, solar thermal for space heating and domestic water heating, exhaust heat recovery, high efficiency lighting. Greg Sherman designed an effective, energy efficient lighting system for the building.
Bright Power assisted the project in acquiring close to $10,000 in incentives from National Grid and NYSERDA programs.
