SUMMARY:Nonprofit Housing 46th Annual Affordable Housing Conference
DESCRIPTION:Join Bright Power’s Caitlin Rood\, Senior Account Manager\, as she moderates Achieving Impact and Transformation – Huge Electrification Incentives – Projects and Results at Nonprofit Housing’s 46th Annual Affordable Housing Conference this fall. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDiscover how affordable housing owners and developers are leveraging incentives to cover 80–100% of the costs to upgrade domestic hot water and HVAC systems to high-efficiency electric heat pump technology. This session will highlight real-world case studies from Northern California\, featuring perspectives from nonprofit affordable housing owners/managers\, a multifamily electrification implementer\, and a utility data analyst.\nAttendees will gain insight into the full process of converting existing buildings from gas to electric systems—including project planning\, financing\, implementation\, and post-installation performance. Presenters will share weather-normalized utility data spanning more than one year (and in some cases over eight years)\, offering a rare look at measured results.\nLearn why electrification is the future for California properties\, how mid-cycle projects were funded\, the lessons learned along the way\, and how these systems are performing today—directly from those who designed\, implemented\, and manage them.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nPanelists Include: \n\nCaitlin Rood\, Senior Account Manager\, Bright Power (Moderator)\nConnie Tang\, VP Asset Management BRIDGE Housing\nMichael Brod\, Senior Project Manager\, Sustainability\, Jonathan Rose Companies\nMichelle Tran\, Sustainability Manager\, Chinatown Community Development Center\nAndy McNamara\, Co-founder and Principle\, Carbon Zero Building

SUMMARY:Pro Tour: First Modular Passive House Building in NYC
DESCRIPTION:Bright Power is proud to be a sponsor of NESEA’s Pro Tour of Bethany Terraces\, the First Modular Passive House Building in NYC. \nLearn how in just two weeks\, Paul A. Castrucci Architects shipped and assembled 47 modular units from Leola\, PA\, to East Flatbush\, Brooklyn\, resulting in this four-story residential complex with affordable\, Passive House design. \nNESEA invites you to an in-depth tour of this innovative project\, which aims to reduce energy use and embodied carbon\, while embracing circular building design. This building is the first modular Passive House building in NYC. This 57-unit all-electric building was developed through the Senior Affordable Rental Assistance Program (SARA) and includes 18 units reserved for formerly homeless individuals referred by city agencies. The remaining units are open to the general public. \nBright Power is both the Phius Verifier for this project and provider of building commissioning services at Bethany Terraces. Congratulations to the project team\, including RiseBoro Community Partnership. \nThe event will begin with an opening workshop where the team will discuss the history\, goals\, and design and construction strategies. Attendees will then break into small groups to tour the facility while hearing more from the interdisciplinary team of experts who made the building possible. After the tour\, we’ll regroup for a reception and Q&A\, giving attendees the opportunity to chat with the day’s speakers and each other. \nTentative Schedule\n\n\n\n12:30 PM\nDoors open\, registration\, networking and coffee\n\n\n1:00 PM\nWelcome by NESEA\n\n\n1:10 PM\nOverview of the project by the host\n\n\n2:00 PM\nTour of project begins; attendees rotate through content-specific stations\n\n\n3:45 PM\nGroup reconvenes and travels back to initial meeting point\n\n\n4:00 PM\nReception with light refreshments\n\n\n4:15 PM\nQ&A panel with members of project team\n\n\n5:00 PM\nEvent concludes\n\n\n\nIf you have questions about this event\, you can contact us via protours@nesea.org.
