DESCRIPTION:Bright Power’s Amanda Clevinger\, Director of Policy & Programs\, joined the speaker panel at the 2024 Solar and Storage Summit with Sustainable CUNY\, New York Solar Energy Industries Association (NYSEIA)\, and hundreds of clean energy professionals from the public and private sectors. \nAs NYC reduces its reliance on fossil fuels\, electricity consumption will rise dramatically. Scaling up distributed solar + storage deployment will be key to ensuring that this transition is affordable\, and also presents a once-in-a-generation economic opportunity for New York’s workers\, entrepreneurs\, and businesses. \nHow will New York reduce its reliance on fossil fuels while incorporating building electrification\, large-scale renewables\, transmission\, distributed solar\, and energy storage? The pathway is still being defined\, but one thing we know is that it will run squarely through New York City.
