SUMMARY:BuildingEnergy NYC: IRA Incentives for Multifamily Decarbonization
DESCRIPTION:  \nJoin us at the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association’s (NESEA) BuildingEnergy NYC for a session delving into the realities of using IRA incentives for multifamily decarbonization projects. A presentation of case studies will outline the most used IRA programs\, ways to stack incentives\, and methods for monetizing tax credits. Some programs have proven challenging to leverage\, warranting an explanation of common roadblocks and potential solutions. The past two years have shown that accessing IRA programs requires expertise and resources that certain market actors lack. There are critical lessons learned and future programs that will help get IRA funding to the buildings and communities that need it most. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSession Speaker(s):\n\nIon Simonides\nEsther Toporovsky\nJennifer Leone\nLaura Humphrey

SUMMARY:Electrification for Multifamily Buildings: Strategies and Opportunities
DESCRIPTION:Electrification in existing buildings present unique challenges – with technology\, constructibility and occupant comfort. In this webinar\, Punit Shah\, Vice President of Existing Buildings\, and Darren Johnson\, Senior Account Manager\, outline the best strategies and required planning to approach electrification for multifamily buildings. \nFor the many properties that fall into the standard compliance pathways for NYC’s Local Law 97\, they will be required to make significant upgrades to their existing HVAC systems in order to avoid penalties. For a lot of those properties\, electrification of fossil fuel-based systems is the clear solution to mitigate fines for future Local Law 97 cycles.

SUMMARY:NYC Solar & Storage Summit
DESCRIPTION:Bright Power’s Amanda Clevinger\, Director of Policy & Programs\, joined the speaker panel at the 2024 Solar and Storage Summit with Sustainable CUNY\, New York Solar Energy Industries Association (NYSEIA)\, and hundreds of clean energy professionals from the public and private sectors. \nAs NYC reduces its reliance on fossil fuels\, electricity consumption will rise dramatically. Scaling up distributed solar + storage deployment will be key to ensuring that this transition is affordable\, and also presents a once-in-a-generation economic opportunity for New York’s workers\, entrepreneurs\, and businesses. \nHow will New York reduce its reliance on fossil fuels while incorporating building electrification\, large-scale renewables\, transmission\, distributed solar\, and energy storage? The pathway is still being defined\, but one thing we know is that it will run squarely through New York City.
