The building was designed to ensure efficient temperature regulation throughout the year to promote passive resiliency while operating at a low heating and cooling demand.

50 Penn is a high-quality mixed-use, sustainable, and 100% affordable housing complex in the Cypress Hills neighborhood of Brooklyn complete with access to healthy food choices for residents. Located within a recently rezoned area of East New York, the new building includes 218 apartments designed for multifamily occupancy, with green features including a solar photovoltaic installation. 42 of the new apartments are dedicated to formerly homeless and elderly households and 100% of all units are permanently affordable.
