California Deregulates Electricity: A New Opportunity To Cut Operating Costs

Exciting news, California! Now, multifamily building owners in the State of California have a new way to save money on their electricity bills. By expanding their direct access program, you can buy electricity from suppliers instead of the utilities. How can this impact your electricity bills? Like many other states that are deregulated, real estate owners and operators can choose which supplier they want to work with and can opt for fixed pricing which can help stabilize budgets while costing less than the utility. This change creates a more competitive market, and therefore more competitive pricing.

Bright Power will take you through each step of the process, explaining what your options are and helping you select the best contract for your portfolio goals.

Interested parties must enter a lottery via an application process as there is a limited amount of electricity load that is currently available in this program.

How does the process work? It’s simple.

  1. Let us know you are interested in joining the lottery.
  2. Bright Power submits an application on your behalf between June 10 and 14 during the application period.
  3. Wait to receive notice if you were accepted in the lottery.

That’s it! If you are accepted, we’ll help you find the right supplier(s) for you and your portfolio. If you are not accepted, you automatically enter a wait list for any electricity load that becomes available.

Contact us today if you are interested in entering the lottery or if you have questions about your energy costs.
