Energy Audits & Feasibility Studies

Understand Opportunities Before Investing in Them

A Bright Power Energy Audit will provide you with a thorough understanding of how your building, its energy systems, and operating practices impact consumption, comfort, and cost. Need to comply with local energy auditing laws? We have you covered.

Our Audit Team offers a wide variety of Energy Audit services to help our clients achieve their energy efficiency, carbon reduction, capital planning, and compliance goals. Our services include a thorough in-depth assessment of the property’s existing equipment and operations that help in creating actionable scopes for the properties. All our services include a carbon assessment of the property and pathway to achieve compliance for CMA LL97 of 2019.

Looking to convert your building to electrification? Electrification in existing buildings is one of the most complex, challenging, and capital-intensive projects to take on. To help our clients make these decisions, we provide varied levels of electrification studies including feasibility studies.

Bright Power's Energy Audit Types

Walkthrough Audits (ASHRAE Level I)

The audits provide a high level assessment of energy efficiency opportunities at the property. The study includes detailed utility assessment, a walkthrough of the entire property to identify major equipment and collect other relevant information. The report includes a high level analysis of all applicable measures, potential incentives for implementation and their carbon reduction potential. Analysis also includes proposed approach to achieve LL97 compliance (Standard or PECM Pathways)

Comprehensive Audits (ASHRAE Level II)

These audits follow the ASHRAE.211.2018 standard and provide a comprehensive overview of the property’s energy usage, equipment, operation and available improvement opportunities. The report includes a detailed overview of the existing conditions, end-use analysis,  and thorough assessment of all applicable energy efficiency opportunities at the property. It also provides a pathway to achieve property’s carbon reduction goals and potential compliance for Local Laws in New York. This level of audits are also eligible for LL87 compliance and various incentive programs.

Deep Energy Retrofit Audits (ASHRAE Level III)

Our most comprehensive studies go beyond the ASHRAE Level III guidance and provide an in-depth analysis of energy efficiency measures including deep energy retrofit opportunities and feasibility studies for electrification. In addition to the standard ASHRAE Level II assessment, this analysis includes electrical infrastructure assessment, equipment selection guidance, utility rate projects and electrification readiness planning for properties considering electrification for major central systems.

Targeted Audits

Our targeted audits focus on improving specific systems, equipment or end use and list recommended improvements. These studies are often helpful in identifying reason for inefficient operation of systems, evaluating unusual energy usage or retro-commissioning major equipment.
