What’s happening with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager?
Proposed federal budgets for next year eliminate funding for the EPA’s ENERGY STAR program. While this is only a proposal for now, we are keeping a close eye on developments, especially since the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager (ESPM) is a critical tool for building owners and managers.
Here’s what you need to know:
- ESPM is currently live and operational
- No immediate changes have been made to the platform
- 2025 benchmarking, including Denver, Massachusetts state, New Jersey state, New York City’s Local Laws 84 and 97, and Philadelphia reporting, continue as planned
Steps Bright Power Has Taken to Secure Your Data
For Bright Power’s EnergyScoreCards customers, we continue to work to ensure your data is safe, secure, and independently backed. The table below provides a summary of key metrics included in our backup plan.

Metrics which require manual intervention to ensure data security will be downloaded directly from ESPM by Bright Power via a portfolio export and will be made available to customers upon request. There is currently no action required on your part at this time.
Looking to the Future
Bright Power will continue to monitor developments and provide updates as they become available. In the meantime, please reach out to your Bright Power team with any questions.
