Cooperatives & Condominiums

Designing the right energy and water strategy for your home.

Bright Power works with shareholders, board members, and property managers to develop a strategy to tackle energy and water inefficiencies for each cooperative and condominium. We find savings opportunities, analyze their value, and help you plan improvements according to your budget. Not to mention we find local incentives that help minimize upfront installation costs.

By having all your energy and water management solutions under one roof, projects are completed on time, on budget, and with savings, benefiting current shareholders and attracting new ones.

How we do it

Energy Auditing

Our technical and engineering experts investigate all major energy and water systems and speak to site staff to understand operations and maintenance practices as well as shareholder issues. In the winter, do you find that some units get too hot while others are freezing? Our heating assessment will get to the bottom of the imbalance issue, eliminating the need to open windows on cold days and nights. We found that a majority of co-op and condo building systems’ operations costs come from inefficiencies in heating, cooling, ventilation, and providing domestic hot water. Bright Power’s recommendations for improvements will be organized in a report and we will meet your board to explain what we found. Learn more here.

Feasibility Studies

Looking to lower your energy costs but not sure where to start? Our technical and engineering experts assess upgrade opportunities at the property, helping you gain an understanding of your building’s energy and water performance. We show you which improvements have the shortest payback and recommend the sequencing of upgrades that will yield the strongest results. Before you make a large investment in new equipment or systems, let us do your due diligence for you. This will allow your board to make informed and prudent decisions. Learn more here.

On-site Generation: Solar, Storage, Cogeneration

Reliability and resiliency will never go out of style. Solar photovoltaic (PV), cogeneration, and battery storage can provide savings, increase shareholder safety, build site resiliency, and keep your building operating during grid outages or blackouts. Bright Power’s Resilient Power Hub integrates all three technologies, thereby increasing their impact. Based on your building and several other factors like cost, baseload, tax credit implications, and incentives, we will recommend the right resiliency solution for your co-op/condo.

Looking for a way to create cash flow for your corporation? A Solar Co-op, similar to Community Solar, allows you and other shareholders to receive monthly electricity savings from the electricity generated by solar on your roof.

Energy Supply Purchasing

Manage electric and gas costs with our energy procurement services. With our best-in-class energy market, data science, and project implementation expertise, our team develops the optimal energy purchasing strategy for your co-op/condo whether you want to reduce costs or avoid risk.

Compliance

Bright Power can help turn compliance obligations into value-add opportunities. Compliance regulations are designed to ensure buildings perform as efficiently as possible, leading to reductions in building waste, carbon footprint, and costs. We handle benchmarking, energy auditing, and retro-commissioning ordinances for you so you can learn how your co-op or condo performs to unlock areas for improvement. And with retro-commissioning, often a required component of energy auditing, equipment can even be fixed on the spot, providing immediate benefits! Explore how compliance can help you.

Building Performance Analytics

Benchmark, analyze, track, and report usage and costs with Bright Power’s proprietary EnergyScoreCards platform. Your dedicated Energy Analyst and our team of experts will help you understand your building’s performance and to make data-driven decisions.

Incentive Management & Procurement

Bright Power will help you reduce upgrade costs by unearthing relevant local and/or federal incentives. Our team has deep knowledge of the incentive landscape and will find the right program(s) that best fit your projects.

We wanted to show people they could actually do solar in a way that could save money on their individual unit costs. It’s a double-e win: environment and economics.
