Ocean Bay Apartments—a 24-building, 1,395-unit complex located in Far Rockaway, New York—was severely damaged by Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and began redevelopment in 2017. Bright Power worked with RDC Development, a professional partnership between MDG Design + Construction, LLC and Wavecrest Management, to develop the energy and water efficiency and onsite generation scope. Among major energy efficiency improvements, Bright Power designed and installed a 575 kW ballasted solar PV system across 20 of the 24 buildings.
